I believe I now have collected all the songs of SimCity and have successfully installed the music into my SC4D Game. All songs are mp3 format. Do you have all the music in your SimCity Game Radio Directory's Collection?

Its nice to watch with a lot of timing comedies which almost makes you to smile:) Worth a watch, and has a lot of tempting scenes too.

I have a few suggestions. First off, you can get the music from the PlayStation version of SimCity 2000 from this site. It includes the old theme song and everything, plus a good amount of tracks that weren't in the PC game. For user made songs for SimCity 4, try the. It's slightly different, being more Electronica than New Age or Post-Rock type stuff that's usually found in the game, but some of the songs really give a cosmopolitan feel to cities (my favorites are 'Maglev', 'Get Vertical!'

, 'Candy Hearts Moon Kid' and 'East Kinsei Kaigan'). One more thing.try out the Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 soundtrack. A few pieces of amazing music there, especially for your Region/God mode! That's all I've got. By the way.you're missing a few songs from the SC3KU soundtrack.

That's the original SimCity 3000, but there were a few added ones that aren't included from your list. I should know: I've got it too! Originally posted by: masochist I have a few suggestions. By the way.you're missing a few songs from the SC3KU soundtrack. That's the original SimCity 3000, but there were a few added ones that aren't included from your list. I should know: I've got it too!quote Thanks masochist! Those are all wonderful suggestions. In fact, I just barely downloaded and installed the SimCity 2000 soundtrack mp3s you pointed out, and updated the original post to include them (with a credit to you).

I'm like you: I only put in music that's SimCity-ish in style. Nothing with words (other than simple vocalizing/harmonizing) and nothing too 'rock'-ish. Most of the time I find a lot of stuff for God Mode (because people like their instrumentals to be nice and soft), but sometimes there'll be some good things for Mayor Mode. What I'm really looking for is some Acid Jazz-type stuff.

You know.the music they play in the background on The Weather Channel. That would make for some nice building music.

I have to check out some of those Sims songs you suggested, as well;-). Hey youre right, there are some good tracks there! Depending on someone's tastes, the purist will pick and choose carefully from the RCT3 albums, or the person looking assorted new background music will likely drop them all in.

I agree with you on the Acid-Jazz sounds. It would be nice to find more of those.

I wonder if SimCity 4 runs worse with a couple hundred extra meg of music in it. On another note, Its amazing to me how people have voted in the poll at the top! SC4 players seem to all be expressing that they do it differently. All the options have been hit. Oh and track 10 on the RCT3 Album is broken. You can download it but it will be only 1k big.

Have you had any luck locating those missing SC3KU Tracks that I listed? Id love to eventually add those to my game.

I wonder what the music was in the original SimCity game long long ago. Probably they arent available in mp3 format now. Oh and track 10 on the RCT3 Album is broken. You can download it but it will be only 1k big.quote I've no idea. 'JJ's House' didn't actually fit the game's music to me, but I suppose if you really wanted to check it out, you could install your game again (if, as you said, you find the disc again). The ones I put in my game were 'Lush Canopy,' 'Prairie Rider,' 'Summer Air,' 'Mermaid,' 'Bubble House,' and 'Space de Grey.' The latter two were the only ones that went into my Mayor Mode folder, and 'Space de Grey' only made it because of the SimMars soundtrack.

Actually, there are a couple random other songs from game soundtracks I use. A couple of songs from the Metroid Prime soundtrack really fit well with the God Mode music (and a lot more options open up if you're really going for a 'SimMars' theme). I'm always on the lookout for more music from games that would fit, so if you know of any, please let me know! As for those extra SC3KU songs, I haven't been able to locate them. It's slightly sad, because some of those were the best songs of the game. If you happen to find them, please let me know! I wonder what the music was in the original SimCity game long long ago.

Probably they arent available in mp3 format now.quote The original SimCity soundtrack was classic, IMO! It consisted of looping tracks that only changed whenever your city size went up a level (from 'Village' to 'Town' to 'City,' etc.). As lo-fi and simplistic as it was, there wasn't a sound or song on there that I disliked.mind you, I've only ever played the Super Nintendo port of the game. And as they were looping tracks, I doubt you'd be able to find mp3's for them.though I could always be wrong.

Check out the! In order, the songs are The Intro, City Setup Screens, Notice from Dr. Wright, 'Village', City Advancement (up a level), 'Metropolis', 'Megalopolis',.I forget., 'Capital',.not sure. I don't use ITunes.

I guess ill have to search for it somewhere else. But thanks for the idea! That would be awesome if they are similar in style and can add new effect and flavor to my SimCity 4 Deluxe game. Well judging by the votes in the poll of this thread at the top, it seems that most people arent really interested in this topic, but for the few who are, you may like to visit one of these 2 threads that i just found on similar topics: Free New Music for SimCity 4 by a Simtropolis Forum User:.

The actual Songs of SC4 with real titles and artist name for each!. Anyway, I found these interesting. And if anyone else has ideas (or downloads) for new SimCity-like music to add to the game, please bring it up! The poll results (above) kind of surprise me. It really seems that as with Mods/Plugins/Lots. Music is also a very personal choice and greatly varies by person.

Everything really is just up to the impressions of the individual. I personally feel its kind of fun to find New SimCity-ish/like Music to add to the game. I feel that the music can really add to the feel of it. Sometimes I feel like the game picks a high or slow speed tune based on the mood of my sims, but i know that isnt really likely to be happening. But its fun to pretend!

Any one else have links or suggestions of SimCity-sounding new music that they have created or found? EDIT: Oh, and also if anyone has the SC3U game and can find the mp3 versions of the following songs that im missing, I'd love to be able to get a copy from you. Here are ones that i apparently don't have: 3KSE1.XA = 'The Howling Wind' 3KSE2.XA = 'Sixth Floor' 3KSE3.XA = 'Desert Sand' 3KSE4.XA = 'City Lights' 3KSE5.XA = 'City of Dreams' SC2KBUG.XA = 'SimCity 2000 Theme'. Any one else have links or suggestions of SimCity-sounding new music that they have created or found?quote I found this one while browsing through some random music. Some of the tracks (like Spelling Bee) remind me of Sim-city stuff. That album by Braces Tower has some good tracks in there.

Released under CC-attribution no-derivs, might be ok for something like this.quote Hey there pauljs75. Yes, that Spelling Bee does seem to fit in that sophisticated jazz way of Sim City. I listened to the entire album. If we trim the beginning off ActionJackson, it might fit as 'building music' well. And Nameless might fit in that dilapitated city feel way. Thanks for posting this suggestion!

Our SimCity-like music collection will expand thanks to contributers to this topic, like you. I look forward to the next persons suggestion. Originally posted by: RobAstor Oh, and check out Tangerine Dream's 1989 release 'Lily On The Beach'. Three tracks fit well, I think: 'Alaskan Summer' 'Desert Drive' 'Radio City' Unfortunately, this isn't on iTunes in the USA.

But, if you can find it, the album is worth having and possibly adding to your customized soundtracks. Robquote Oh My Gosh! Did the REAL Rob Astor just post in our Music thread?! I think its really him because well.

He has a 'Trixie Award' on his account. And with only 13 posts ever?

'those with few words, usually give substance when they speak.' Plus most consider him somewhat of a 'Sim City music God'.

For those who didn't notice, look at the first post of this thread, his name is all over it! Notice the SimMars Official Soundtrack listing above! Its some really good music that I've already added to my game. Well Rob, its a pleasure to read suggestions you've run across. I personally really like this thread topic, and music in general, and more specifically Sim City-like music for my SC4D game. Thanks for bringing your expertise of SC style to this topic here.

And if you ever have more suggestions or thoughts, I know a lot of us have subscribed to this thread and will be interested to read and try your new ideas out. I don't have iTunes and haven't been lucky enough to find these new suggestions anywhere yet, but I'm not done looking yet. Search continues.

As for the SC3KU where you say there are additional songs, and I only have listed the originals. I'd like to find them! This appears to be the correct SC3KU Sountrack. So I must be missing: 3KSE1.XA = 'The Howling Wind' 3KSE2.XA = 'Sixth Floor' 3KSE3.XA = 'Desert Sand' 3KSE4.XA = 'City Lights' 3KSE5.XA = 'City of Dreams' SC2KBUG.XA = 'SimCity 2000 Theme' Are these the exact list that you have? Any idea where to find them?quote Has anyone (who is around here NOW days) found these songs that I apparently have missing from my Sim City 3000 Album collection (that I added to Sim City 4)? Oh also, My brother doesn't play Sim City, but he has heard the music when I was playing and he is really into music.

He sent me an MD of music he thought were in the 'Sim City'-feel. I haven't heard it all yet, but I think some of these actually do fit!

They are random songs from albums of Joe Satriani, for those who have heard of him. (All instrumental) If you haven't heard of him, maybe try it out. Thanks, Cougar, for all the kind words.

And, yes, it really is me. SimMars gave me real boost of creativity musically. It's hard to believe that was over three years ago now. About the titles in the SimCity 3000 soundtrack, there was a time when the soundtrack was available for free from the Maxis site, I believe. It has/had fifteen titles, however, none of the titles match those tracks you're looking for. I just tried to find them on some other sites and I'm coming up empty. I wonder if some of the titles changed, or were mistaken.

Possibly even outtakes. Even the version on iTunes is minus those titles. Doesn't mean they don't exist. Good luck tracking them down. You might try looking for some albums on Amazon.com.

They now have mp3 downloads. I haven't searched over there well enough yet to know if any of my suggestions are there. There are a number of good sellers that have CDs for good prices in the new and used listings connected to titles. Found many treasures that way. A couple of other tracks that fit well: New Stories - Highway Blues (one of the default Win XP tracks - so probably in WMA format.

But most media players can convert to mp3. And very SC3k-ish) Watermelon Man (obviously, you'll need to find an instrumental version - again, very SC3k-ish) I did have an SC3UK CD, but I've since donated it to my sister, who currently lives over 40 miles away.

So what I might do is P2P a copy, extract the audio, then delete the rest (since I won't be playing the game!). IIRC, there may be plugins for a Nullsoft media player that can cope with XA, so converting the tracks (including the ones included but not in the default playlist) to mp3 shouldn't be too difficult. Oh, and the downloadable version of the SC3 soundtrack (which we all know isn't identical to the soundtrack on the original CD) is still available at EA's website. Perhaps the easiest way to find it is to ask a search engine.' SimCity Soundtrack' feels lucky. The composer for the SC300 music, the SC4 music, and most of the original Sims 1 music has his own website; and you can download pretty much every song there in full from it. Anyway, the tracks that I love, and really fit in well are: Bitersweet.

From the Build mode in the Sims 1. New Beginnings. From the Build mode in the Sims 1. Since We Met. From the Build mode in the Sims 1.

The Simple Life. From the Build mode in the Sims 1. (There are two more Build Mode songs not on here; though they can be found in the Sims 1 music folder. They are titled Build Four and Build Five respectively.) The Sweetness.

Blind Optimism. Walk the Walk. From the Sims 1 Hot Date. Talk the Talk.

From the Sims 1 Hot Date. From the Sims 1 Hot Date. The Sims Online? Originally posted by: Shpigglewog Yo! I'm also looking for those SC3KU tracks, 'Desert Sand' particularly. Haven't had any luck finding it online. If anyone has access to it, could you PM me?:-) Thanks!quote I'm glad there are others looking besides me.

When anyone finds them, hopefully they will post it here. 3KSE1.XA = 'The Howling Wind' 3KSE2.XA = 'Sixth Floor' 3KSE3.XA = 'Desert Sand' 3KSE4.XA = 'City Lights' 3KSE5.XA = 'City of Dreams' On another note, when classifying Music of SimCity in general terms throughout all the versions, I tend to categorize it into 2 styles: Jazz and Electronic. Does this sound right to everyone else here? We had a few good Jazz suggestions above, and today I found an Electronic suggestion of an artist that has quite a few good tracks for 'city building music' called 'Booka Shade'.

Worth a listen if you desire to add some new tracks of the Elecronic SimCity style. Thanks to lurking this thread a few weeks back, I found out about the extra music in SC3K Unlimited that wasn't there in the original game (never played Unlimited, myself), so the other day I borrowed my brother's copy and went to work on it. I grabbed the original.XAs from the music folder, converted them to.wav files using a program from way back in '01 that I found, converted those to MP3s, tagged them all up, and now they're part of my MP3 player's SimCity playlist. It's not necessarily the highest quality rip, but it's more than adequate for my needs; at 192 kbps, the five tracks ended up at 36.3 MB for 26:28 of music. Anyway, where would be a good place to upload them? Also, regarding tags, I just credited them all to Jerry Martin, since that seems to be a safe bet for when I don't know who actually did a song. Does anyone know who actually wrote each track?

Oh, and as for other music to add to the playlist: for old-school fun, I added the soundtracks to the SNES version of SimCity and SC2K, as well as the aforementioned SC3K+U to my SC4 playlist. The older stuff doesn't really have the same feeling to them, but it amuses me to listen to them. Since I often listen to video game music anyway, I also added a playlist of various RPGs' overworld and town themes, and more often than not they're decently fitting, calm, pleasant city-building music. I can't really see Joe Satriani's music in a SimCity context, but I suppose some of his slower songs could work.

I would recommend listening to the NPR program Hearts of Space, because it's got all sorts of Electronic, Ambient, Classical, Acoustic, and World Music-type stuff that, to me, fit really well with the feeling of SimCity's music. To re-iterate the important part of the post since it was buried in the middle of a paragraph: where's a good place to upload the SC3K Unlimited music so it's convenient for me to put up and for everyone else to download? To re-iterate the important part of the post since it was buried in the middle of a paragraph: where's a good place to upload the SC3K Unlimited music so it's convenient for me to put up and for everyone else to download?quote Excellent news!! And 192k sounds reasonable to me.

Id also be interested in the other Simcity music copies you developed. There are many many free upload/download services you can use. Other people here may have suggestions, but I think is a pretty easy one for just the few files that you have here.

Give it a try. I believe you must make a free login there first, then upload, then you will be given a link that you can give to others to use.

Thanks for locating the few missing files. I look forward to hearing them.

Originally posted by: Salvanis Okay, let's see if I did this right. Go here: and see if it works out. Again, they're all credited to Jerry Martin since I don't have the real information, so if someone has more accurate info, I'd be happy to update the files.quote Excellent! I just got done listening to each one in winamp, and now have added them into my Mayor Radio Music Folder so they will play within the game.

(I looked online but didn't find their composers either yet.) Also I have updated the Original (first) post of this thread to include the additional missing files (now found and provided by Salvanis): 16 - The Howling Wind.mp3 9338 KB 17 - The Sixth Floor.mp3 6796 KB 18 - Desert Sand.mp3 6778 KB 19 - City Lights.mp3 7087 KB 20 - City of Dreams.mp3 7240 KB Finally, I have a complete SimCity Music folder of all authentic original tracks of all the SimCity Games up until SC4D. Since then there have been a few other SimCity games. Societies, Creator, and probably some others.

I suppose the search goes on to find and add those to the list. IF anyone happens to know of others missing from the list, feel free to join in and suggest additions. But special thanks to Salvanis for the work in figuring this all out and supporting our thread topic of SimCity Music Collection here.

Originally posted by: Daniel696 Um I'm having a problem with my playlist. I recently downloaded the money tower and money park as well as the NEM Addon and now the music I have in my playlist won't play by it's self and you can forget the custom tracks playing. I only can play the original tracks by the preview button and the rest of the playlist won't play even after the song ends.(Yes I do have the boxes selected.) I have downloaded the complibility mod for the NEM Addon and own Simcity 4 Deluxe version.quote Daniel, I'm not sure your question is related to this thread topic about building a SimCity 4 Music Complete Collection of related music for our game, but try exiting your game, removing the money plugins you put in, as well as any other changes you made to your game just before it quit playing the music properly, then restart your game. See if that fixes it. I have never seen an issue quite like that before. I have had individual custom music (mp3s) added to the radio folder, fail to play, but it never affected the rest of the game or music playlist. To fix that, i just removed the problem file and replaced it with a working copy.

And while in this thread, we have finally been able to identify and collect ALL the SC4, SC3K, SC2K, and SC original, and SimMars gameplay music, I've recently learned that there are other SimCity versions out there for various game systems, as well as related music in The Sims 1, 2, and 3, and other Sim games that might make excellent additions to this collection. If you are into expanding your SimCity-style game playlist like me, keep your eyes open for those. And we can identify and list the songs here. Season's Greetings!
