I'd love to hear that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 The song sounds a lot like 'Private Radio', guitars and all, except w/o the orchestra.

I got the CD from 'Seventeen' Magazine in the fall of '04 from a Wal-Mart promo CD. The track is unreleased. I just wish I knew how to post the song up here so that you all can listen to it. U can upload it in rapidshare.com or megaupload.com I also forgot to mention that they played this song on 'The Young & The Restless' back in '04 in a scene with Nick and Sharon Newman.

I thought it was Nora Jones when I first heard it. I absolutely love this song, and I play it over and over. But thank you.

I don't know how to get it up there, but I'll figure it out. I also hate the program b/c it's temporary, but I'll make do. I also want you to hear the retail version of 'Pretty Baby', you know, the version she plays live that everyone's making such a buzz about. Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. Post by: Manny on February 08, 2006, 06:44:55 pm. There's only one problem with this arrangement; it had 7 flats.

I know that it's in Ab Minor, which synonymous with G# Minor, which has only 5 flats. I notice that certain notes contain double flats, which mean that you go down a half step. It's not that I'm ignorant about key signatures, I'm and expert on it, but I happen to be to time signatures, but that's a whole 'nother story. but what about those who don't know as much about them?

Someone even said that 'Papa' was in Eb Dorian, which isn't so; it's actually in Eb Minor, b/c that key has 6 flats. Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. Post by: phu on February 20, 2006, 04:56:18 pm. Hi, i don't know much about music theory and i sometimes wonder why people are so obsessed with figuring out the right key of a song isn't it, that every piece of music can be written down in any key so it's just a matter of choossing a good one - probably a key, which causes less sharps & flats at least that's what i do:lol: but if i'm totally wrong and there's some great magic about all this, tell me:wink: Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs.

This is also the version that she plays live, and it's really pretty. Maybe now someone will be able to transcribe it.

I don't see it. The first one is the album version and the others are previews. Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. Post by: VanessaPiana on February 23, 2006, 04:19:07 pm. Is there something I'm missing here, because it sounds like the album version to me, and I even played them side-by-side to compare! Well, I guess you're right, b/c I've went to several websites that sell CDs and so far, they have this version.

The version of BNN that I have has the video or original version of Pretty Baby. I once thought that this was the this tamer version of PB that didn't make the album b/c it wasn't commercial enough, but I'm starting to think that it's more recent. Vanessa and Ron Fair probably watered it down and wanted it up there b/c she played this version live and on her original demo.

I thought that no one had really heard of this version. I first heard it about a year ago now. So pardon my mistake.:) Elicia Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs.

I've been thinkin' 'bout u, gurl. I knew you would post here again soon. Thank you for the transcribsions of HAWBFTW, b/c it's the song I want to most learn from HARMONIUM. I already know The Wreckage, Papa, Who's To Say, Afterglow, White Houses, (both C and B Major versions) and bits of C'est La Vie and She Floats. I just want everyone to know that when you go to Musicnotes.com now that you can no longer sample-play anything up there anymore; they've done away with that system.

But you can go to Sheet Music Direct now to do that on Sibileus Scorch, but it's not the same, though. I also came up here to let everyone know that that means that the seperate versions of 'Annie' and 'Private Radio' that were accurate, availiable @ Musicnotes.com, are now out of print, unfortunately. So I was wondering would anyone do transcribsions of them, considering the fact that the songbook versions suck. No pressure; it's just a little suggestion.

Elicia Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. Post by: VanessaPiana on March 20, 2006, 04:51:36 pm. Oops, my bad; Private Radio have already been transcribed. Forgive the flub-up.

I guess Annie's next. Pretty Baby isn't the most accurate, b/c it's supposed to change to Bb near the end; but I guess it's the Rinse 2000 version, b/c the key stays the same throughout.

Well, there ain't nothin' I can't do; I can add my own touches to it; after all, I'm an artist, and I have the ability to make someone else's work my own. I'm not complainin'. None of Van's songs I play sound exactly like her work; I always put variances in her material somewhere. Elicia Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs.

Nothing too fancy but I wanna be able to learn vanessa songs on it:oops: I'd recommend the Privia because it has everything you'll need if you want to seriously study and can't get an acoustic, and even if you aren't too serious about learning, it's great quality for a pretty low price. Although there are cheaper models out there but from what I've seen the quality is much lower. Vanessa has a new song called Edward?

I really have been out of the loop. EDIT: Oh, I see now. It's a Shannon Thomas song. Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs.

Hey guys, I was thinking of getting a keyboard to mess around with, I use to have one when I was young, I even took classes in high school (and sucked, thus the fact I stopped playing lol) Any brand recommendations? Nothing too fancy but I wanna be able to learn vanessa songs on it I recently bought a Roland RD-170 which I think is fantastic. It retails at $AUD2,800 though. I would definitely go with a digital piano rather than a keyboard though. I don't like keyboards because I always run out of keys when playing my songs!!!

A keyboard is alright for playing Twilight though, lol. Also keyboards don't usually have weighted keys and so the key touch is too light and it makes it harder to play a real acoustic piano. I'd advise against getting something really cheap, as apart from it sounding crap, it's unlikely to be very sophisticated in terms of polyphony, sustain, etc. If you don't have a sustain pedal, you'll run into problems making certain songs sound right. Songs like 'Annie'.) In terms of sound, keyboards and digital pianos make sound when you play the keys because each note has been sampled by a piano sound (or an organ, or whatever sound you're playing with.) Each key must be sampled many times with different touches (eg.

Lightly playing with a soft touch, or banging on the keys Beethoven style, or inbetween), so when you play, as you don't apply the same amount of pressure to all the notes in a song, the electronic sound will recognize this accordingly. Many cheap keyboards aren't touch sensitive like this, and so if you play loudly, with lots of pressure on the keys, or softly, with not much pressure, the notes will be at the same volume- the only control over volume is the volume switch. Hope this helps.

Ron c the c theory rarlab movie

I'm sooo glad that Maag posted 'Superhero', b/c I felt that there were mistakes in the first transcribsion. I really listened to the song the a cappella version when I noticed. It was gonna be my next song, but I realized that there were mistakes in the Lucy's version. It will officially be the next song I learn now that it's put up. It's one of my favorites by Van b/c it has such a pretty melody and vocal arrangement.:D As for ATM, I only printed out one page and learned the rest of the song by ear, to be honest. Since I've heard the song a million times for 3 years, it was pretty easy to do. Since I didn't know what the exact notes were by the time Van sang, 'If I could fall, into the sky.'

, I made up my own melody, changed the notes, and have no intentions of changing it. It took 2 weeks to have the song by ear. Elicia Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. Post by: GuitarHead27 on July 29, 2006, 05:45:15 pm. ^i see, i learned white houses by ear.but i can't get the bridge.

As for ATM, i have to start looking for a version of the song with only Vanessa and her piano are in it.i know there should be alot of those, i just haven't had the time to look. Yes, there are: There are versions in C, versions in B, versions where she plays a simpler piano part, and versions where she plays fill-in for the orchestra part that's heard on the record. She usually tends to play the song in C live, though the record (and she sheetmusic version in the book) is clearly in B. Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs.

Post by: VanessaPiana on August 14, 2006, 11:46:00 am. The album version is definitely in C Major on the album. Van plays it in B Major live.

It's not that hard to figure out what key each version is in, b/c I'm a musician myself; I have an ear sometimes a weird obsession for what key certain songs are in. I really don't know why Van plays White Houses In B Major live, b/c B Major or G#/Ab Minor is a rather hard key to play in b/c it had 5 sharps. It's the one I have a hard time perfecting, so I prefer it in C Major; but it is easier to sing to, though. I thought she did usually play it in C live. It's in B on the album. No, she plays it in B live and it's in C on the album. You're right.

The confusion started because we had started out talking about 'A Thousand Miles' and then someone else started talking about 'White Houses', and I hadn't noticed the subject had changed suddenly. Post by: flimsysurface on October 18, 2006, 01:18:32 pm. Unsumg is just like one of the ones she made because she had to. There are better things that u can download. Ps dont steal the sheet music.

Go out and buy it. We need the most vanessa support. Although i wonder if it will help her at all now that she is not with Universal or wb whatever anymore pc They still have to pay her royalties since she owns the compositions. She just doesn't have any recording or promotional obligations to them anymore.

V has never played in Db or Bb Minor Major before. I had a feeling she would play in that key sooner or later, b/c she's usually comfortable playing her songs in a certain key. I've never officially played anything in Db or Bb Minor, and I'm currently learning a song in that key for the first time, which is Alicia Keys' 'How Come You Don't Call Me'.

I've tried to learn more than a year ago, but it just never worked out. I'm just glad she's thrown in some spontanaity in that particular area. If V could do B w/ 5 sharps or Cb/Ab Minor, w/ 7 sharps, she can do Db/Bb Minor w/ 5 flats or C# Major, w/ 7 sharps The only problem I have with this arrangement is that it's too simple.

It's just me, but I like things that are more challenging better. Just had to throw that in. Elicia Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. Post by: Martin. On November 18, 2006, 04:04:57 pm.

I love her 'diary' piano too! It's beautiful./quote I'm doing pretty good w/ HCYDCM, but I'm still struggling w/ the end part of Diary I transposed the arrangement back to its orignal key, Ab/G# minor. I started playing it back in January after seeing a guy do it and figured if he could do it, then I could, too. I tried learning the song b/f then, but it didn't work out. I made the part in between my own.

Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. Post by: Manny on November 19, 2006, 06:09:14 pm. I have some more good news; I'm just now figuring out the exact chords and their notes for Alicia Keys' 'If I Ain't Got You' after playing the song 'my' way for more than 1 year 1/2. I've had the songbook since 2-3/05. Since the arrangement in the song was pretty whack, I pretty much made the song my own by creating my own riffs and ignoring the chords. I've always wanted to play it like or very similar to AK, so I decided to sit down one night and figure out the chords to the song by looking at the guitar chords; thank GOD for those, b/c I don't know what us novices would do w/o them. I have and I wrote them down on a piece of paper.

I made a chart for all of AK's songs that are in G#/Ab Minor in the songbook b/c they'd been transposed; I hated that so I made the chart so it would be easier to transpose it back in the original key. So far, I've learned half of 'Harlem's Nocturne', which is up to the fast arppeggio.

To sound as good and accurate live compared to on the album! Does the end section of Home, remind anyone of Where the streets have no name.? I thought that was interesting. Some parts of other songs have the same notes/chords/rhythms as her older stuff. Like in ummm I think its Come Undone (or is it Spring Street?) There's a similar pattern that sounds like the bridge of Who's To Say, except in a different key.

I think, whoever did that transcription of Home, forgot the extra riff at the end! Just a note ^^ Yep just adding my bit.

Thanks to phu for hosting it and making the.mid file. DUDE, I've been playing this version all along since early this year! You can see the ending i'm talking about in my video here: sorry if its been posted somewhere. I looked but couldn't find it.

I'm terrible at figuring these things out by myself. OOOOO i want to know that accurate notes for this as well.i think i have it figured out, but im not by my piano right now.but maybe later i can post it:) Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. By the way, yesterday I got my Japanese Tour Edition 'Ordinary Day' Single:roflmao:, so as it has an 'Ordinary Day' piano/vocal studio version I've transcribed it, and I discovered some new details I'd never realized before. PS: I was thinking about figuring out 'My Best', so if you have any audios where you can hear well the piano I'd be very glad. Title: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. Can anyone tell me any web where I can do that online? Wow, quick!:) I can't wait to have 'London's sheet. Oh and did you alos figured out 'Spring Street'?

I'm just dying to play that song. I don't have 'London' yet. And, if Vanessa does not play 'Spring Street' live I won't figure it out, because the studio version is really bad to hear the piano and there are even parts when it doesn't sound. Title: Re: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. Post by: maag on March 23, 2009, 12:22:01 pm.

I figured out the chords for the most parts of 'Fair-weather Friends': (don't know if it's the right key but if you play it like this it will work out quite good) It's basicly D(minor) A(minor) C G and then for the refrain it's: F C A(minor) G Bridge (your fragile as porcelain.): A(minor) G C F I hope it will help you or motivate others to write out a complete sheet music for those who don't like playing simply with chords:D Title: Re: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. 'Waltz' sheet music? This is what I've transcribed so far - not on sheet music though. Just be ear and trying to find the rest out as I go.

Maag, do you think you can write it?::).Is PattehPatrick on Youtube (I hate text limits). Main chords: Ab maj Cb minor Gb minor F maj The left hand is basically just the chords with the main note, followed by the other two notes in the chord. I just put 'Wanted' on the first page.

I tried to write all the variations I know about this song, so it has details from Live, Rinse, BNN versions. And you should definately check the 2nd verse. I'm not 100% I got it perfect, but the left hand is certainly better than the half notes the official book has. PS: I'm going to France next week but I may start working with 'C'est la Vie', so if you could give me live videos of this song I'd really appreciate. I reviewed my transcription and found a quite handful of mistakes. Anyway, for those who downloaded them, I want to apologize for the minor mistakes. Anyway, I remade my sheet musics for 'My Best' and 'Spring Street,' adding the lyrics for both of the songs, and guitar tabs for 'Spring Street.' Here are the links: My Best (Best - Updated.pdf) Spring Street (Street.pdf) Hope ya'll appreciate them.:) Title: Re: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. So, I was scanning the forum when I found this pretty much old live performance of Pretty Baby. (It had an encore outro at the end which sounded great. Though it was only pretty short, I think it's worthy of learning to make the playing of the song more beautiful. And so, I decided to make a sheet music for the outro. Hope you guys like it.;) Pretty Baby - Encore Outro. Pdf (Title: Re: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs.

We can see pretty well her hands. Hey, I already fixed it.;D About the QDS Sheet Music, I've been trying for ages to make one but I 'm having a hard time identifying the time signature of the song. I can already play it, though. I just need to know the time signature and I'm good. And since you've asked, maybe I'm going to face that one again in just a few moments.;) Update about QDS: I'm halfway done with the sheet music.:D I'd probably post it by later or tomorrow.

Because I only have Who's to Say:- Edit: Somebody sent me the songbook of Harmonium and a better scan of Be Not Nobody on Pianofiles.com. I updated the zip file. Never too late to learn. If there's a will, there's a way. One more thing: I just want to ask to those who use the sheet music I made: Does the guitar chords bothering you? Thanks for the sheets.

(: I just finished learning Carousel and no they don't bother me. Actually that's nice because my friend can play guitar while I play piano.

Thanks for responding. Ima put chords too in Fari-Weather Friends. Title: Re: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. Post by: maag on October 16, 2010, 09:11:51 am.

Could anybody give me any pointers on how to transpose All is Well into the key of B major. I find C flat major incredibly hard to read so if anyone knows if the computer can magically do it, or i by hand, because i don't mind re-writing it if anybody else would like it.

Thanks I know that it has been ages, but I'e managed to find time to transpose All Is Well in B Major. I've also edited some stuff, so here: (Title: Re: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs.

Post by: alliswell on June 12, 2011, 09:27:55 pm. Is there sheet music for Fools Like Me?

Ron C The C Theory Rarlab 2017

'Fools Like Me' is in there. It's a backup of maag's transcriptions but 'The Marching Line' and 'In the End' are missing. This is my transcription. In The End.pdf (And I know that my first Marching Line sheet music don't do much justice.

I'm currently re-evaluating it and correcting the mistakes. And I tried to find Maag's TMLine Transcription, but it seems like he had put it down as well.

I tried asking him, but he hasn't responded yet. Title: Re: Sheet music for Vanessa Carlton songs. Post by: IfICouldFall on June 29, 2011, 08:53:17 am.

I love that song. I will work on a complete version of 'Come Undone'! Generally if I do a transcription I like to learn to sing it too, so if I can do it well I'll put a video on YouTube.:P If Maag can give me permission, I will add his transcription of the outro to mine.

I'm excited about singing Vanessa again.:D Oh, and sobriquet, I'm pretty sure all my downloads still work on that main thread anyway. I did check a few of them. (Not that I have that many anyway).
