My first post here, so please forgive me if I'm being stupid Running Frodo on an Ubuntu Linux box. No problems until now - I think it may have something to do with the length of the folder/file name, but I really don't know. I have been busy loading in my DVD's, and for the last 2 nights I've been working away at my Harry Potter DVD's. Everything has gone fine until I got to 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1'. As with my other movies, I created a folder named 'Harry.Potter.and.the.Deathly.Hallows.Part.1(2010)'. Within that folder are 2 files: - 'Harry.Potter.and.the.Deathly.Hallows.Part.1.m4v' - 'Harry.Potter.and.the.Deathly.Hallows.Part.1(2010).nfo' which contains the address to the imdb entry for the movie This has worked for all other movies.

This one just shows the folder title instead of the movie name (on ones that work the name doesn't have the (date) information showing on the menu). No information is available - it's says no movie found in path. If you click the menu entry it just shows an empty folder structure - no movie file. I thought this had to be a typo, so I even copied/pasted the name for the folder name, the.nfo file name and the movie name (removed the (2010) from the movie name as with all the others). The only difference I see is that this folder/file name is longer than all the rest I have done so far and that work. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Still working out a few kinks though. Currently, I have a lot of my multimedia on a set of networked drives, but have been unable to get XBMC to connect to them.

I operate on OS X and my drives are attached to the network using a Ciragolink NUS1000. I have no trouble connecting to my drives using Finder by selecting Go Connect To Server. In the menu bar, then entering the server's URL and my username/password. The URL is and is accessed using WebDAV. However, I can't get XBMC to connect to the drives. I've tried using File Manager to add a source by selecting Add Source Browse Add Network Location.

I love xbmc but the picture quality has been poor for me (dull/grey, NOT choppy/glitchy). When playing the exact same file (720p bluray rip) in vlc, the picture has much deeper blacks and more vivid color. I've made all the adjustments on my TV already. Why would the picture be so different from one player to another? I'd post the screenshots but it would take me forever to figure out how.

I also installed the DTS patch made by Stafstrom ( When watching movies with MX Player (using the HW setting) it uses the machines own FFMPEG drivers. This allows DTS and DD5.1 passthrough to my receiver (using optical out). When playing a movie in XBMC (using the latest nightlies) the video plays just fine, BUT DTS and/or DD5.1 doesn't work. (also when changing the sound settings to digital/hdmi with and without support of a DTS /DD5.1 receiver.

When changing it to digital I get a hissing sound. Maybe this is caused by the internal compiled FFMPEG? Therefore I want to know if and how it would be possible to use the Minix X5 own FFMPEG drivers in XBMC? Or if it's possible to fix XBMC internal FFMPEG drivers?

Dear All, We are trying to get passthrough audio on the Minix X5 device. Since a smart guy did some backward coding he found out how to enable this.

Unfortunately it works with BS Player, RK Player and MX player but not with xbmc. Well I thought no man overboard since we have these options'; com.mxtech.videoplayer.pro true 120 I thought to be clever and put video on false (let it handle by xbmc's DVDPLayer) but put Audio on True so its handled by MX Player.

Unforetunately in practice this means one will effectively use another player for video (defaut) and MX for music. Could this be implemented so, that we divert the audio to MX Player? This would make the minix the first android box with passthrough on an optical Toslink!

I've been having issues with XBMC hanging while shutting down for a long time now. The only way to kill xbmc.bin is with a kill -9 command.

I'm running a recent built from source version of XBMC on an old version of Mythbuntu. I'm looking for suggestions for what to try to diagnose further. I’ve purchased Xtreamer Ultra2 DELUXE to replace my old WDTV live. I'm new at XBMC and I'm looking for a software that I can browse the media files in my network and see them in my TV. The thing is.
