Some may don't know what's resolution it is but hey, it's less trouble to the devs to explain how to change it instead of putting a broken hardware auto-detect. I really like Codemasters, they are really good for racing games (Overload series is a must too). But THIS is too much lol.

So please Codemasters, fix this or just remove the autodetect and let us choose the resolution how we want. You should put the configs in a.ini or.txt files instead of XML. Way more simple i case of faulty hardware auto-detect function. I tried the demo several months ago and was unable to set to 1920x1080. It works now, thank you! To the above poster, this has nothing to do with DVI in my case, I strictly use HDMI and only have one monitor.

This is a game specific issue, because this is the only game I have experienced this on with more than 40+ games. Thank god this was on sale. In a world where 1920x1080 and 1920x1200 are the most common resolutions for gaming I wonder what else you are putting in your crackpipe, because this is AWFUL! No need to use that for. The resolution save in a XML file.

Even if it's modified to 1920x1080, and Read Only. The game will still run it's crappy hardware detection and won't really take in consideration with the 1920x1080. The game will see its 1920x1080 but will run the broken hardware autodetect to see if you can truly display it. So it fail to detect and you get another resolution that the game display normally. What's the full-HD TV?

I can also manage to put that custom res for a Full-HD TV aqnd the trick still work for it. I'm a bit nervous about doing this to a standard HDTV, as I have. I do not have a PC monitor. Does anyone know if this can actually cause damage to the TV?

They certainly have a bunch of scary warnings under the customize options in the NVIDIA control panel. I don't even need 1920x1080 to be happy. I'd just like one 16:9 ratio as an option! And I can confirm that this is not DVI-related, since I use an HDMI connection. I also find it pretty frustrating that the game often opens with the window not centered on my screen, and I have to close and restart the game. I assumed this has something to do with using 150% text, since that prevents me from playing Civ 5 in fullscreen mode to this day.
